BEFORE YOU CONNECT

Keep These Four Things Ready

The receiver, computer and activation details must all be ready before opening the terminal connection.

1

Your Enigma2 Receiver

Connect the Zgemma, VU+, Dreambox or other Enigma2 receiver to the television and home network.

2

A Windows Computer

Use a computer connected to the same home network as the receiver. PuTTY will open the secure terminal session.

3

Your Activation Email

Keep the complete KING TV Enigma2 command visible so it can be copied without changing any character.

4

The Receiver IP Address

You will enter the local IP address into PuTTY. It normally looks similar to 192.168.1.120.

Use the same home network
The computer and receiver should be connected to the same router. Do not expose the receiver terminal service directly to the public internet.
MATCH THE DETAILS IN YOUR EMAIL

Confirm You Received An Enigma2 Command

Continue only when the KING TV email contains one complete receiver installation command or auto-script.

NORMAL PLAYER LOGIN

Username, Password And Server

These values are normally used in an IPTV player, not directly in the Enigma2 terminal. Ask support for the correct receiver method.

PLAYLIST ONLY

Complete M3U URL

Do not invent an installation command from a playlist URL. Contact support when the email does not include a receiver script.

STEP 1

Find The Receiver IP Address

The exact menu name varies by Enigma2 image. Look for network information inside Setup or System.

1

Open The Receiver Menu

Press Menu on the remote and open Setup, System or Network.

2

Open Network Information

Look for Network Status, Adapter Settings, Interface Information or About.

3

Write Down The IPv4 Address

Use the local address shown by the active Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection.

EXAMPLE FORMAT
192.168.1.120
Your receiver address will normally be different.
NETWORK INFORMATION

Use The Active Connection

Connection

Status

IPv4 address

Cannot find the receiver?
Restart the receiver and router, then check the router device list for Zgemma, Dreambox, VU or the receiver hostname.
STEP 2

Install PuTTY On The Windows Computer

PuTTY is a free SSH and Telnet client. Download it from the official project page and install the Windows version.

1

Open The Official Download

Use the button below. Avoid download mirrors and modified installers.

2

Install The Windows Package

Choose the installer that matches the Windows computer, then complete the normal installation steps.

3

Open PuTTY

Launch PuTTY and keep the receiver IP address ready for the next section.

STEP 3

Connect To The Receiver With SSH

Use SSH first. Select Telnet only when the receiver image or KING TV support specifically instructs you to use it.

PUTTY SESSION

Enter The Receiver Address

Host Name or IP address
192.168.1.120
SSH
Port 22
OPEN
Connection refused?
Confirm the address, make sure the receiver is online and check whether SSH is enabled by the installed Enigma2 image.
1

Enter The IP Address

Type the receiver IPv4 address into Host Name.

2

Select SSH

Use port 22 unless the receiver image or support supplied another port.

3

Open The Session

Accept the host key warning only when the IP address belongs to your own receiver.

4

Log In As Root

Enter root as the username. Enter the receiver root password when one has been configured.

Do not publish the root password or receiver command.
Send sensitive account information only through the KING TV contact page or by replying to your official order email.
STEP 4

Paste The Complete KING TV Command

Copy the full receiver command from the activation email. Do not remove quotation marks, change the URL or type the command from memory.

root@enigma2
SSH
login as: root
root@receiver:~#
PASTE THE COMPLETE COMMAND FROM YOUR KING TV EMAIL
Press Enter once and wait for the installer to finish.
1

Copy The Entire Line

Start at the first character and include the complete ending.

2

Right Click To Paste

In PuTTY, right click inside the terminal window to paste the copied command.

3

Press Enter Once

Do not run the installer repeatedly while it is downloading or updating bouquets.

4

Wait For Completion

Leave the terminal open until the command returns to the prompt or confirms completion.

The line shown above is not an installation command.
It is a safety placeholder. Only the unique command in your KING TV activation email should be pasted into the receiver.
STEP 5

Reboot The Receiver And Open The New Bouquets

Restart only after the installation command has finished and the terminal returns to the prompt.

1

Enter Reboot

Type reboot in the terminal and press Enter, or restart the receiver normally from its power menu.

2

Wait For Startup

Allow the Enigma2 interface and network connection to load fully before opening the channel list.

3

Open The Bouquets

Open the television or favorites list and look for the KING TV groups created by the installer.

4

Test A Channel

Open one channel and allow several seconds for playback before changing receiver settings.

OPTIONAL EPG TOOL

Assign Programme Guide References With E-Channelizer

Use this advanced section only when the receiver already has working satellite EPG data and you want to map those references to IPTV channels.

1

Install E-Channelizer

Download the current Windows version from the official E-Channelizer website.

2

Read The Receiver Lists

Connect E-Channelizer to the receiver and download the existing services and bouquets before making changes.

3

Assign And Write Changes

Map the correct DVB service references to the IPTV channels, write the changes back and restart the Enigma2 interface.

Create a backup before editing bouquets.
Incorrect service-reference changes can remove or reorder channel lists. This EPG section is optional and intended for experienced receiver users.
USE THE CORRECT FIX

Solve Enigma2 Setup Problems Without Starting Again

Check the matching problem before reinstalling the script, resetting the receiver or deleting bouquets.

CONNECTION REFUSED

Check SSH And The IP Address

Confirm the receiver is online, the IP address is correct and SSH is enabled by the installed Enigma2 image.

LOGIN FAILED

Verify The Root Password

Use root as the username. Enter the receiver password exactly or set one through the receiver security menu when required.

COMMAND ERROR

Copy The Full Line Again

Copy the command directly from the email. Missing quotation marks, spaces or URL characters can stop the installer.

NO BOUQUETS

Restart The Interface

Reboot the receiver after the installer completes. Confirm the account is active before running the command again.

BUFFERING

Restart The Network

Restart the receiver and router, test another channel and use Ethernet where practical.

WORKS ON HOTSPOT

Check The Home Connection

If channels work through a hotspot but not home internet, open the KING TV connection help page.

ENIGMA2 SETUP QUESTIONS

Enigma2 IPTV Setup FAQ

Open a question to view the answer.

Which receivers can use this guide?

This guide is intended for compatible Enigma2 receivers such as many Zgemma, VU+, Dreambox and similar Linux-based models that can run the supplied KING TV receiver command.

Should I use SSH or Telnet in PuTTY?

Use SSH first because it provides an encrypted connection. Use Telnet only when the receiver image or KING TV support specifically requires it.

What username should I enter?

Most Enigma2 terminal sessions use root. The password depends on the installed receiver image and whether a root password has been configured.

Can I use the example IP address?

No. The example is only a format guide. Enter the IPv4 address shown by your own receiver or home router.

Can I build the script from my M3U URL?

No. Use only the complete receiver command supplied in the KING TV activation email. Contact support when the email does not contain an Enigma2 command.

Why are the new bouquets missing?

Confirm the installer completed, reboot the receiver and verify the account is active. Send support the terminal error when the command does not complete.

Is E-Channelizer required?

No. It is an optional Windows tool for advanced bouquet and EPG management. The KING TV installation command does not require it for normal setup.

Does KING TV renew automatically?

No. KING TV subscriptions are renewed manually. No automatic renewal charge is taken.

STILL NOT CONNECTING?

Send The Receiver Model, Terminal Error And A Screenshot

Include the exact receiver model, Enigma2 image name, the step that failed and a clear screenshot of the PuTTY error. Do not post your password or complete private command publicly.
